"scared'? ... not sure about that but I know they are very shy. I think if they were scared they probably wouldn't come near our place. But they regularly can be found about the home and often near the 'back door' (from where this photo is taken). They can be hand fed but it is difficult to get their confidence so they will come up to you and take feed from your finger tips. They are very skitty: eye contact isn't recommended, and best to be facing to the side. We feed them Weetbix, an Aussie cereal biscuit.
It's fun having them around, especially when the joeys are first out of their pouch and exploring their new world without its fur lining.
